Just about nothing makes me happier than when I see those daffodils blooming in early March. It’s amazing how they just instinctively know when to send up their tender green shoots and share those buttery yellow flowers with all the world. Even though it may not feel like spring, those daffodils let us know not to worry. Spring is coming whether we believe it or not.

And with Spring, we get to enjoy Easter! I love the Easter holiday. Flowers are everywhere! The days are longer and we know that winter is definitely on the way outta here! Plus, Easter Candy.

You can’t have Easter without Bunnies and Easter Eggs!

What would be the point? Today’s blog post is about making Pom Pom Easter Bunnies!

Meet Barney, Andy and Myrtle

Remember how I told you in my last post about the Topsy Turvy Bunny that I was going Bunny Crazy over here? Yeah. This is what I mean.

This is another project that grew out of something I found on Pinterest. I had to really do some digging to track down the original tutorial for these little bunnies! But it was worth it! The instructions are great, and I had so much fun making these little Easter Rabbits.

Sweet Bunny Family

This was not an especially fast moving project. It took me two afternoons of crafting to make all the bunnies. So you don’t want to wait until an hour before the Easter Egg hunt to start on these.

My photo assistant made the white one, second from the right. Between boys stopping by to hassle us and all the texting, it took her about 2 hours to get her bunny all done. Still, she did finish him, and I thought he came out great.

It took some doing to get the whiskers in the nose and the face glued on. Well worth it as far as I’m concerned. This would be a great addition to a child’s Easter Basket. Or place a couple of these around the house for the morning Easter Egg Hunt. Putting the face together is not appropriate for little children, but they could certainly help with making the pom poms and gluing on the cotton tail.

Here’s your supply list:

  1. Chunky Yarn
  2. Pom Pom Makers
  3. Good Scissors. This is a lot of cutting and you will thank me for recommending good sewing scissors.
  4. Felt in a color close to your yarn color
  5. Felt in pink for the inside of the bunny ears
  6. Wooden beads for the nose. I liked the big pink nose.
  7. Bag of ready made white pom poms for the cotton tails.
  8. Tacky Glue
  9. Beads for the eyes
  10. Whiskers
