All month the blog has been sharing adorable pom pom bunnies with you. They are the sweetest yarn craft, and perfect for new or experienced crafters, young or old people. Everybody loves a pom pom bunny. (if you are not one of those people, then you should probably click away now.)
And since March is National Crafting Month, I thought the Pom Pom Bunnies were a good craft to share with you.
Here’s a disclaimer: This brief post is totally unplanned. But I could not resist sharing THIS with you.
Oh my gosh! Look at those sweet faces. I offered to let these little girls, who are my neighbors, come and pick out a bunny for themselves. I was not prepared for how much they loved them. So I had to take a couple of pictures.
You might recognize this white bunny as the one my photo assistant crafted. Coincidentally, she is the big sister to this little girl. Jolie picked out this bunny for her own, and when I told her that was the one Mackay had made she was so excited.
You might recognize the little sister from the My Little Kitten Hat Pattern. She modeled that for me. She’s grown up quite a bit since she last appeared on the blog, which was in the fall.
They grow and change so fast! Remember to slow down and enjoy time with your children. Crafts are a perfect way to have fun family time. You get to make a fun toy or painting or something for your room AND create a special family memory. How amazing is that?
Crafting is the ultimate in family time. You have a fun experience, create a unique object AND make a special memory all at the same time.
To me, that’s nothing short of magical.

I’ve been talking about these bunnies EVERYWHERE! It turns out some of my instagram friends are making them, too. These bunnies were made in a children’s art class in England on Saturday. Their teacher saw the pictures and wanted to share the project with her students. Look at the amazing bunnies the 6 year olds made in their art class!! I’m so proud of them. My heart is just so full seeing this.
Here’s your supply list:
- Chunky Yarn
- Pom Pom Makers
- Good Scissors. This is a lot of cutting and you will thank me for recommending good sewing scissors.
- Felt in a color close to your yarn color
- Felt in pink for the inside of the bunny ears
- Wooden beads for the nose. I liked the big pink nose.
- Bag of ready made white pom poms for the cotton tails.
- Tacky Glue
- Beads for the eyes. I used shiny “E” beads which are a little small. I definitely like the shiny, because the eyes didn’t get lost in the pom pom.
- Whiskers. I used Nylon String for this.
